Mealtime Companion Yeovil

Our Mealtime Companion volunteers assist with mealtime preparation (making tray space on patients' tables) and ensuring patient is sitting comfortably for their meal. They also assist with mealtime tray delivery ensuring the tray is accessible to the patient and give mealtime assistance such as uncovering food and opening any wrappers and cutting up food. After meals they assist in the clearing of mealtime trays making sure patient has what they need on their table and that their call bell is in reach. They offer the patient post mealtime hygiene (a cleansing wipe for mouth and hands) and leave them comfortable.
