Volunteer to Career - Welfare Volunteer at YDH (Volunteer to Career)

Have you been thinking about a career in the NHS but not completely sure which direction you want to go in? We have a 10 week volunteer to career program that could be just what you need.

We have 3 10 week blocks taking place at Yeovil District Hospital on the following dates:

9th June - 11th August 14th July - 15th September 4th August - 6th October

You will be required to complete 3 shifts a week, covering days, evenings and weekends.

Shift patterns will be as below please note the days are set for these rota and will vary Monday - Sunday:

• Week 1 - 0830 - 1230 (4 days)
• Week 2 - Training
• Week 3 - 1500 - 1900 (3 days, including 1 day placement in Mental Health Facility)
• Week 4 - 1000 - 1400
• Week 5 - 1730 - 2130
• Week 6 - 1400 - 1800
• Week 7 - Online Employability support (subject to change)
• Week 8 - 0900 - 1300
• Week 9 - 1230 - 1300
• Week 10 - 1100 - 1530

You will receive 3 placements within this 10 week block. One week will include our trusts Observation and Support training, as part of our violence prevention reduction work.

Placement locations include:

• Porters
• Emergency Department (Meet and Greet role in reception)
• Dementia team

You will need to complete online Mandatory Training, as well as attend the Observation and Support training for the role of Welfare Volunteer in Yeovil but off site from Yeovil Hospital.
